Georgie's closet is meant to help all current and future kids in foster care located in Kankakee County, IL. Striving to meet needs of kids coming into care, emergency placements, and transitions. Providing duffel bags packed with clothes, essentials, toiletries, and loads of prayers. Georgie's Closet is completely donation based.
Georgie's Closet is excited to begin offering more resources to not only the kids in care but also the families and community surrounding them.
We soon hope to offer:
• A safe and fun environment to support children and parent visits
• Informational meetings and Q&A's regarding foster care and the programs within
• Support Settings for foster parents
• Information Regarding Volunteer Opportunities
• Respite Information for current foster parents
A group of local foster moms saw a need, put together some dreams, got the families on board and started reaching out to the community. Thus begun Georgie's closet. We quickly realized our community absolutely wanted to help, they just needed a way to do so. We are happy to be a link to directly helping these awesome kids and families.
